With our 501c3 status, there are so many new opportunities to get help for our neighbors in need! If you have experience with grants/corporate sponsorships or just have the desire to make a big difference in our community, please reach out to Lauren Rosenbaum at donate@ballantynefamilies.org). We have already started to build this team but would love your help.
Who We Are
Thank you for your interest in helping families in need in the Ballantyne community! Together, we have done amazing things and look forward to doing more during this challenging time.
We provide food support to families in need who are identified by the CMS school counselors/social worker of the 9 schools that are in Ardrey Kell High School's feeder pattern (Ballantyne, Elon Park, Endhaven, Hawk Ridge and Polo Ridge Elementary Schools, Community House and JM Robinson Middle Schools, Rea Farms K-8 STEAM Academy, and Ardery Kell High School).
So far, we have given over $245,100 in grocery gift cards and over 2,000 bags of groceries. We have held 9 food drives and 20 grocery gift card drives for our families in need on March 16th, March 29, April 9, April 27, May 11, May 26, June 8 (for the summer), September 3rd, October 5th, November 4th, November 18th (Thanksgiving bags), December 4th, December 11th (December Holiday bags), January 8th (food bags and gift cards) and February 3rd, March 3rd, March 29th, May 3rd, May 24th, November 18th (Thanksgiving bags), December 10th (December Holiday Bags), April 1st (spring break), May 31st (for the summer), November 17th (Thanksgiving bags), December 9th (December Holiday Bags), March 31st (Spring Break - food bags and gift cards) and May 30, 2023 (for the summer) Our next giving will be on November 16, 2023 for Thanksgiving. We are grateful that this giving is already fully funded!
We also operate a food pantry at Community House Middle School. If you or someone you know who attends or works in one of the 9 Ardrey Kell feeder schools needs food assistance, please have them see their school counselor. The counselor will fill out a google document to select food preferences. Once a week, a volunteer will select the food and deliver to the counselor who made the request,

Food Pantry

The Ballantyne Families’ Food Pantry is now open!! The pantry is fully stocked with non-perishable food. The pantry is available to any family that attends or works for one of the 9 schools in the Ardrey Kelly feeder pattern. It is located in a trailer at Community House Middle School.
If you or someone you know needs food assistance, please contact the school counselor. The counselor will fill out a google form with the family to select food options. Once a week, volunteers will select the food and deliver it to the counselor who made the request.
MANY, MANY HANDS were involved in order to make this pantry a reality! Please take a look at the below thanks and pictures - this has truly been a community effort!!!
A huge thanks to Tori Collins for leading the pantry process creation, Audi Naftzer and Tammy Ledford for stepping up to be the pantry managers and to Brian Slattery, Principal of Community House Middle School, who secured a location for the pantry and has been so supportive of our efforts!
