Few photo collections offer such a broad sweep of topics, from celebrity shots to political rallies to final-turn horseracing drama to everyday 'found' moments. Glenn Kulbako has a sharp eye, and a knack for being where the action is -- not just "the room where it happens," but the nation where it happens. Highly recommended!

    The subtitle of American Snapshot says it all. Kulbako captures people in candid moments that reveal their character and suggest to us the stories of their lives, making exploring it a bracing experience. At the same time, his eye for composition is unerring, drawing the reader back to the images again and again to experience their beauty as well as their revelations. As I return to it, I could only wish for more images, but the selection is obviously carefully curated and perhaps that would dilute their impact. This is a triumph on many levels. Don’t miss it.
