UCE of FIT Code of Conduct (adapted from NYSUT Code of Conduct)

The UCE believes that a strong commitment to social and racial justice, equity and diversity is a high priority. The success of our efforts to address and eliminate obstacles to social justice, equity and diversity depends on our willingness to engage and to educate our members.

The UCE is committed to providing a positive and respectful environment that is free of discrimination and harassment, regardless of an individual’s race, ethnicity, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity or expression, ancestry, pregnancy or any other characteristic prohibited by law.

As such, the UCE will not tolerate discriminatory, harassing or otherwise unacceptable behavior at any of its activities, events or meetings, even if the conduct has not risen to the level of a violation of law.
The UCE expects everyone participating in UCE activities, events or meetings to conform to the following Code of Conduct:

• Respect others and their views.
• Recognize and value individual differences.
• Do not engage in aggressive, bullying or intimidating behavior.
• Do not engage in discriminatory or harassing behavior.

If you are subject to what you believe is unacceptable behavior under this Code of Conduct, or witness such behavior, please inform the UCE immediately (asstsecretary@uce-fit.org)

The UCE reserves the right to remove meeting participants who violate this Code.
