About this event

Crystal Meth Training for Peers is an interactive training designed by Ballroom We Care for youth/young adults and members of the House and Ballroom Community (HBC). This training focuses on providing a better understanding of the history of crystal meth; identifying signs and symptoms; learning about crystal meth's introduction into the the HBC, and black and brown communities; harm reduction strategies; substance use and COVID-19; and identifying culturally relevant resources. This 2 hour training will be facilitated by Ballroom We Care's Martez Smith.

This event is made possible through the generous support of LaGuardia Community College and the New York City Council through the offices of former Council Member Daniel Dromm (District 25) and former Speaker Corey Johnson with support from the CCNY Colin Powell School of Civic and Global Leadership, and CCNY Division of Student Affairs.

Co-sponsors: Ballroom We Care, the CUNY Office of Student Inclusion Initiatives, the CCNY Health and Wellness Services, and the CUNY LGBTQI+ Council.
