The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Association of Educators is pleased to invite graduating seniors to apply for the David W. Butler and Hiawatha Foster Scholarships. This year, CMAE will award two (2) $500.00 scholarships to CMS seniors who plan to pursue a career in education.  Scholarship winners will be announced on May 5, 2019.

2019 Application Criteria:
-Applicant must be a graduating CMS senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA
-Applicant must demonstrate a keen interest in becoming an educator (as reflected in a personal essay)
-Applicant's resume must contain :
                     1. Work history
                     2. Honors and awards
                     3. School, community and volunteer activities
-Applicant must submit two (2) letters of recommendation from educators.
-Applicant must submit one (1) letter of recommendation from a community member.
-Applicant must attend a personal or phone interview session with CMAE Representative(s).

Completed applications and this form must be submitted by April 30, 2019 to:
