Throughout the year, there are certain individuals that are influential to our growth and development, not only academically, but personally. Often times, these individuals help us out without wanting anything in return. Rather, they do it because they want us to succeed in whatever we do. It is for those people that the Columbia Mentoring Initiative asks you to personally thank them for the recognition that they so greatly deserve.
Whoever the individual(s) may be, we welcome you to honor that person’s commitment not only to making your year a positive one, but also by exemplifying the great characteristics that are integral for a great mentor and friend during our Mentor Appreciation Awards Reception, May 4th, 2010 from 1-3pm in the Satow Room. This person does not have to be a professor, advisor, or a professional mentor (although if they have been influential in your year, we certainly welcome nominations for them as well). This could be your best friend or someone who just took some time to make your day a little brighter.
We will be taking nominations for these awards until April 24th, 2009. Feel free to contact us at
cmi@columbia.edu if you have any more questions pertaining to the reception.
