Panelists will draw from years and miles of experience to answer host Sarah Curry's questions. What should you prioritize when choosing and outfitting an offshore boat? How can you best prepare yourself for the cruising lifestyle? We'll cover topics from self sufficiency to facing fears to life changing landfalls. Learn from our mistakes too! Benefit from expert tips for safe and comfortable passages ... the freedom to explore the world in this amazing way is yours to realize.

John Neal’s 364,000 ocean miles over 44 years include 28 years of conducting 190 worldwide sail-training expeditions aboard Mahina Tiare, a Hallberg-Rassy 46 detailed on www.mahina.com. He is author, co-author, or contributing author of 16 books. John and his wife Amanda annually spend six months at sea, sailing 10,000 miles. Their seminars incorporate the latest information, techniques and resources.

Amanda Swan Neal’s 324,000 ocean miles include completing the Whitbread Around the World Race as rigger aboard Maiden, two Sydney-Hobart Races and seven Cape Horn roundings. She has worked as a rigger and sailmaker in England, Australia and New Zealand. Additional experience includes coaching women’s international sailing teams and tall ship sail-training. She has instructed aboard Mahina Tiare II & III since 1994 and is author of The Essential Galley Companion plus 120 magazine articles.

Will & Sarah Curry bought their first boat in Mexico in 2012 and after Will taught Sarah how to sail (!) they set off across the Pacific in 2013. They sold SV Hydroquest in Australia in 2014 (as was always the plan), but they knew they were hopelessly addicted to the amazing lifestyle. They've spent the past two years cruising and outfitting their second boat, SV Kaiquest, a Jeanneau SO 43, in the Pacific Northwest, and set off cruising again in August 2017 - albeit at a much slower pace. Kaiquest in currently in San Francisco, heading south after the show.

Pacific Sail & Power Boat Show is produced by Sail America.

The Seminar Series is brought to you by sponsors Cruising Outpost and New England Ropes.
