WHEN IS THE CONFERENCE?
Saturday, December 3, 2016 (International Day of Persons with Disabilities!)
Helen Wood Hall at University of Rochester
255 Crittenden Blvd.
9:30AM-3:30PM
WHAT IS THE CONFERENCE THEME?
Our theme this year is, "It Takes a Village: Disability, interdependence, and empowerment."
In today's fast-paced, achievement-driven, entrepreneurial world, this interdisciplinary event aims to shake up the notion of independence as the ultimate accomplishment and lift up the merits of interdependence through the lens of Disability & Deaf studies. Some guiding questions to consider:
•
How can supporting and empowering people with disabilities help entire communities flourish and grow?
•
How can we highlight the interconnectedness of student and teacher, researcher and subject, caregiver and client?
•
How does interconnectedness impact our research, teaching, learning, working, and living?
DOES IT COST ANYTHING TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE?
No. This conference is FREE for presenters and general attendees!
