2020 Student Recognition Awards Nomination Form
Thank you for your interest in the Davenport Student Recognition Awards!  The nomination deadline HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 23.

*Nominations are judged based on the quality of a nomination vs quantity submitted for a nominee. Please refrain from having multiple nominate the same student. Submitting one quality nomination is preferred in order to be respectful of the judges time. 

Nominations should come from within the Davenport community (faculty, staff, students). Exceptions are granted for supervisors of students in the Community Work Study program. Self nominations are permitted for one award per person in all individual categories except Employee of the Year. Self nominations will be asked to provide contact information for a Davenport employee reference. For your reference, a list of the awards and a brief description can be found below:

INDIVIDUAL STUDENT AWARDS - ***the top award winner for each individual student award will be eligible to receive a $500 scholarship if they meet qualifications.

Emerging Leader
This award recognizes a student that, in the short time they have been on our campus, have demonstrated incredible potential and an excellent commitment to scholarship, leadership, and service. Demonstrated potential could be shown through various modes of involvement, including student organizations, leadership positions, athletic participation, and community service.

Employee of the Year (self nominations are not accepted for this award)
This award goes to a Davenport student employee who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to their position and consistently exceeds the expectations of their job description. All of these nominees possess outstanding leadership qualities, self-motivation, and exceptional resourcefulness. (DU employees that are taking classes are not eligible for this award.)

Outstanding Officer of the Year (RSO Member Award)
This award is intended to recognize a student organization executive board member who exemplifies service, commitment, and strong leadership qualities while supporting a Davenport RSO. The recipient will have made significant contributions to their student org by enriching the strengths of their members through integrity and enthusiasm, while leading their organization to new heights.

Panther Pride
This award is presented to a student who has a genuine love for Davenport. This student student consistently participates in campus programming and attends sporting events, while displaying the utmost sportsmanship and school pride. The student cares deeply about representing the DU in a positive manner.  

Student Leadership Award
This award is presented to a limited number of Davenport students who demonstrate significant leadership as a DU student. These awardees serve as role models for other students at their campus and demonstrate the ability to successfully balance academics with extracurricular involvements, while positively contributing to the Davenport community.

Unsung Hero Award (RSO Member Award)
This award will be given to recognize a student organization member who often places his/her heart and soul into everything, but goes unnoticed for their valiant efforts. This student may be classified as taking a “behind the scenes” approach but always goes above and beyond the standard to help his/her student organization.

Volunteer of the Year
This award award is designated for a student who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to serving their community and the needs of others. They have given generously of their time and talents to positively impact their communities.  

STUDENT REGISTERED STUDENT ORGANIZATION AWARDS - ***the top RSO for each category will receive an additional $250 in RSO funding.

The Registered Student Organization awards will recognize organizations that have positively contributed to students' educational growth, recreation, and/or career and professional development. One new and one existing organization will be recognized. ***RSO's must be formally approved through Engage@DU and in good standing to qualify for this award.

Outstanding New Organization (registered between May 1 and December 31, 2019)
This award will be given to a student organization that has formed during the first semester of the current academic year. This organization will have demonstrated continued growth in organizational development and a strong potential to further advance the quality of the student experience here at Davenport.

Outstanding Established Registered Student Organization (registered prior to May 1, 2019)
This award will recognize an RSO that has demonstrated consistent activity, creativity, and initiative; has made meaningful contributions to the campus community; and has had a significant impact on the quality of the student experience at Davenport throughout the academic year.

RSO Advisor of the Year
This award award is designated for an RSO advisor who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to supporting and nurturing the growth and development of their organization. Nominations for this award have given generously of their time and talents to develop student leaders at Davenport.  

PROGRAM OF THE YEAR AWARDS (For events that happened after February 2019)

Diversity Program of the Year
The Diversity Program of the Year is an award for an exceptional student-created program that demonstrates a focus on diversity and inclusion. The program will have an emphasis on increasing awareness, understanding, and celebration of differences.

Educational Program of the Year
The Educational Program of the Year is an award for an educationally focused program imparting valuable knowledge to the Davenport community in a creative, engaging and innovative way. This event successfully encouraged students to learn outside of the classroom at Davenport and will have an academic, cultural, or leadership emphasis.

Service Program of the Year
The Service program of the year recognizes the student-led program that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to service and developing students into active citizens, engaging in service beyond this particular experience.

Social Program of the Year
The Social Program of the Year is an award for a student run initiative at Davenport that has positively impacted the student experience at the University, with a focus on building community through positive interaction with their peers.
