PIE Enrichments & Updates
PIE Period is an important part of the EHS experience. PIE is a 40 minute block each day where students can meet with the teachers they need extra help or practice with or can attend an elective or enrichment activity.
Each week, students meet with their advisors to plan their week and make a plan to get the support that they need to be successful in all of their courses.
Each week students can choose from a list of enrichments and can choose which teachers they need to meet with.
PIE advisors are your main point of contact with the school--you should hear from them at least once a month.
Ask your student what they have scheduled for PIE this week!

Programming @ NEU
The Programming and Web Development, 11th and 12th grade students were honored with an invitation to visit Northeastern Khoury College of Computer Science along with Dearborn Academy. During the visit, they explored various areas of computer science and discovered the limitless possibilities of the field. The staff members were incredibly welcoming and creative in their approach, leaving the students feeling inspired and amazed. The students learned how to draw switch-wiring circuit diagrams and brought their diagrams to life using Minecraft, solved illusion puzzles using a computational approach, and learned the encoding process by developing their own alternative way of communicating with Post-its. They also had a Q&A session with college students who shared their invaluable experiences. The students ended their day by enjoying the unlimited meals that Northeastern offers its students. This visit was a memorable and life-changing experience for the students as they realized the potential of their future in computer science.
