The old part of Vila do Conde remains an active fishing port with a bustling Friday market and an interesting medieval quarter.

The narrow streets are at their best on religious holidays when the chapels in the narrow streets are alive with worshippers. Jose Regio’s house, in the Avenida named after him, is also worth a visit, displaying popular art collected by the famous writer.

For golfers, there are courses at Quinta da Barca, Estela and Ponte de Lima and all are within easy reach by car. Oporto airport is approximately 25 kms away.
