What is Civics?Civics is the study of our rights and duties as citizens. We will look at our government, politics and the economy. This course is designed to make sure you are knowledgeable members of society as adults. So many people don't understand the history of our country or how our government is designed, which is important when looking at where our country is going and how to make decisions as citizens of this country.
Our units our called Organizing Principles, which we will refer to as "OP's" and will be rooted in the 7 Principles of the Constitution: Limited Government (Rule of Law), Federalism, Separation of Powers, Checks and Balances, Popular Sovereignty, Republicanism and Individual Rights. |
