PURPOSE: To gather impressions of those living both within and outside of the neighborhoods of Gowanus and Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.
TIME REQUIREMENT: The survey will take less than 5 minutes.
YOUR PART: If you decide to participate, you will be asked a series of questions, mostly multiple choice though some will allow the option to write in your own response.
RISKS & BENEFITS: As part of the approval process under the Institutional Review Board, I'm asked to disclose any possible risks and/or benefits stemming from survey participation. It is pretty common for folks to share their thoughts and impressions on communities; therefore, there is nothing inordinately risky for you as a participant.
CONFIDENTIALITY: The data stemming from this survey is intended to be used in a published article in the next two years as well as my doctoral dissertation at the City University of New York. This data may also be used as the basis for articles or presentations in the future. Please note that at no time will I ask you to provide any personally identifiable information or will any IP (internet protocol) addresses be collected that could potentially identity you.
PARTICIPATION & WITHDRAWAL: Your participation is completely voluntary, and you may withdraw from the study at any time without penalty by simply leaving the survey. You may also skip any question, but continue to participate in the rest of the study.
