This website is for the students who are taking Mrs. Greene's classes at Broughton High School, their parents, and other members of our community.  It also supports other educators of Psychology and American History on their journey of teaching and learning. Please feel free to contact me for more information or if you have any questions!

Integrity is choosing courage over comfort.

IT'S CHOOSING WHAT'S RIGHT OVER WHAT'S FUN, FAST, OR EASY; AND IT'S PRACTICING YOUR VALUES, NOT JUST PROFESSING THEM.Brene' Brown

About Mrs. Greene

I grew up between Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Carolina. After my first year of college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, I transferred to NC State University and graduated with a BA in History and a certification to teach secondary social studies. I have been teaching in North Carolina since 1999 and have earned and renewed a National Board Certification in Social Studies/History. Although I have had experience instructing in three different counties, I currently teach in my own neighborhood in Raleigh at Broughton High School and am often seen biking to school.

Within the world of education, I am most passionate about taking the art of teaching into the 21st century. I am an advocate for bringing the science of psychology into my pedagogy, grade reform, exploratory and collaborative learning, and enhancing student engagement with technology in the face to face classroom. I have written curriculum for both American History and Psychology locally, for North Carolina, and for the International Baccalaureate Organization. And, I had the opportunity to be a member of the APA Summit on High School Psychology in 2017, and continue to work within the TOPSS organization.

Besides teaching Psychology and American history, I am in leadership positions in my school. And in my spare time, I am an active member of several education and psychology organizations, I enjoy cooking with my husband, spending time with my son, playing my gray kitty- Gertie, hosting friends and family for dinners, practicing yoga, hiking the Appalachian Trail, knitting, embroidering and vegetable gardening.
