March is Women’s History Month, but the Rehoboth Art League is getting a jump on marking the occasion with a new exhibition celebrating it’s female members.

For “Modern Women,” Artistic Director Jay Pastore said there were over 150 submissions that had to paired down to just 40 pieces.

"The majority of the artists here at the Art League are female artists," Pastore said.

Artists submitted pieces that best represent their artistic styles. Everything from painting to drawing to jewelry and sculpture is represented in the show.

The Art League is running a second show in tandem called, “Mid-20th Century Women in Art at the RAL.” It celebrates female artists that have influenced the league’s founding in the 1930s.

Both shows are on display at the Rehoboth Art League until March 12.
