Here's The News

What once was a theraputic outlet for two geeks named May and Xan, has turned into 6 years of informative, entertaining and insane review podcasts about Manga, Anime, Video Games, Conventions and novels of unique quality. With no funding from Big Corporations or government assistant, Alexander "Xan" Villanueva, host of the Various Review Podcasts found at www.spiraken.com has kept the podcast going with a twinkle in his eye and a computer that is still running Windows XP and malfunctioning microphones.

However due to the high cost of replacement equipment, This entertaining podcast may come to an end due to a dying computer and constantly failing microphones. While Xan has been able to keep up with the costs of the web hosting, he will be unable to keep this podcast going once the podcasting computer fails.

But you can help

I've hosted the Spiraken Manga Review and Spiraken Movie Review Podcasts since 2008, providing over 400 episodes and over 240,000 minutes of entertaining audio reviews, delivered free of charge .
By Funding this project, you'll allow me to produce at least another 5 years worth of content with higher quality and more frequency than before. That means more insanity, more informative reviews and more Wheel of Manga.

Be it a new Microphone, a replacement computer or a new Wheel of Manga, anything to help will be appreciated.

Promises Promises Promises

This is where I promise not to spend your contributions and donations on Jet Skis and other frivolous purchases:

In order to keep Our Podcast going, we need to purchase a replacement computer (around $325), 2 replacement microphones ($125 after taxes) and an updated sound mixer (about $100). The goal of this project ($600) will cover the cost of the needed items as well as the IndieGoGo commission fee.
In the unlikely event of an overage, All remaining funds will be used to pay for more manga and movies of amazing and terrible quality to put on the Wheel of manga and Dodecahydron of movies to potentially review in a future episode of the podcast.
In the likely event of incomplete funding, I'll still use whatever money that has been raised to assist in purchasing the things needed to keep this podcast afloat. I'm not looking to make a profit, but rather trying to keep this podcast going and be able to keep providing fun content for fans new and old.

The Impact

Over the past six years, The Spiraken Manga Review and the various other podcasts released at www.spiraken.com have become a cherished and special part of my life. I would hate to see all the memories and experiences i have shared with the fans be lost due to a lack of funds:

Through this podcast I've helped manga fans discover a whole new world of weird, awesome, sad and intriguing graphics, movie fans discover cult classics and helped fans steer away from the truly terrible things that man has unleashed upon the movie, game, and manga fan .
Fans of the podcasts have thanked me over the years for things which have touched their heart, as educating them on the things which influence us in our pop culture society.
I've been doing this for over six years and hopefully I will still be doing this for another ten years.
