A Professor of Physics from Austria, she is an expert in Nanotechnology, Biomimetics and Tribology. Unlike most of her peers, her approach to science is wide and holistic, bridging over to biology, the arts and the social sciences. She is currently seconded from her permanent post at the Vienna University of Technology to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and serves on various international strategy boards, expert panels, editorial boards, scientific advisory boards. She published two monographs on biomimetics and nanotechnology.
