Chess in the Library - Junior Executive Application
Are you seeking leadership experience? Would you like to contribute to a non-profit organization as an executive member? Every year, we look for volunteers to fill the positions of junior executives for Chess in the Library. These people work closely with the current executives as they learn how to run the program from behind the scenes.

For the year 2018-2019, there are five open positions:
- Junior executive President
- Junior executive Vice-President
- Junior executive Treasurer
- Junior executive Volunteer Coordinator
- Junior executive Media Coordinator

For each position, you will work with the corresponding senior member on the current board for a year and gain valuable experience in the role. For example, you will develop communication and planning skills through working with the volunteer coordinator, and learn how to manage funds and contact sponsors with the treasurer. At the end of the year, you will have the chance to assume the senior position depending on performance.

Keep in mind that this is a long-term commitment. Although it is a volunteer position, not all work will be counted towards community service hours for high school. Consider this job as a non-paid internship, an opportunity for you to obtain insight into how a non-profit student organization operates on the management level. For those who are interested in applying, please fill out the form below by Monday, February 19th.

Note: No chess experience is required. We will contact you and schedule an interview if you are a candidate for any of these positions.
