JUSD ELEMENTARY MUSIC

Elementary band is offered to students in grades 4-6. 4th grade students start off on recorder. 5th grade students can play flute, trumpet, clarinet, or saxophone. 6th grade students with experience can continue on their instrument, or have the choice of auditioning for trombone, baritone, or percussion.

Buy or Rent: Students can visit a music store (website or in-person) and select the instrument of their choice.  You can rent from most local music stores online and they will deliver the instrument directly to your home or school. Below are links to local store rental pages.

Recorders and music will be provided.  If you would like to purchase your own recorder they come in many fun colors!

Elementary Strings is ONLY offered at Ina Arbuckle Elementary, Pacific Avenue Music Academy, Rustic Lane Elementary, and West Riverside Elementary Schools.  Students must be in grades 4-6 in order to participate. All 4th grade students will start off on recorder. 5th grade and 6th grade strings students will get the options of playing the violin OR the viola.
