Covid-19 Free Hot Meal Programs & Food Pantry

Tax deductible
Khalsa Care Foundation (KCF) is a Gurdwara(temple) & non-profit organization located in Pacoima, California, which is a historically low-income area. One of the fundamental principles of the Sikh Faith is service to humanity which is  the concept of "SEVA", it's selfless service to make sure we are taking care of the needs of the local community during any time of need.

KCF volunteers are very aware of the community that surrounds them and know that many families are struggling to simultaneously maintain a roof over their head and food on the table. We believe that no one should worry about whether they will be able to feed their children and family. To help combat this issue, KCF Food Pantry was established in October 2012. The pantry is open every Friday from 5:30pm-6:30pm and hands out about 150 food bags weekly to any family in need in the San Fernando Valley. These bags contain enough food for the week and include perishable and non-perishable items, such as cans, bread, cereal, pasta, fruits, and vegetables. The list goes on and we pride ourselves in having the resources to be able to continue this important service.

As the need for help increases, we try to work within our community and outreach to be able to match the growing need. With the increase in unemployment and health concerns caused by COVID19, we want to remain an institution that our community (Sikhs and non-Sikhs alike)  can rely on. We are working with the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, Department of Disability and Pacoima Councilwoman to distribute 3,000+ warm meals every day. This will help those who are low income, elderly, or have underlying health concerns that prevent them from leaving their house. We have continued our work with Food Pantry and have seen an increase of 300% in our Food Pantry alone during this time.

We are constantly evolving and doing our best to help in any way that we can! Our goal is to give people hope in the form of food everyday and make sure they know that they are not alone in these challenging times.

Thanks to India Friend's Association for a $1,000 donation.
