Raise A Glass For 'The Stephen Sondheim Encyclopedia'

"Careful the things you say, children will listen." Those are among the things Stephen Sondheim has said (carefully) through various singers and characters over a very long and hugely impactful career in musical theater.

Books have been written about the 91-year-old composer and lyricist, but Rick Pender had perhaps the ultimate book to write: The Stephen Sondheim Encyclopedia. It is just what it sounds like, a big reference work containing most of what is known about Sondheim's works, collaborators, and performers.

Rick Pender has already worked this vein for years as the editor of "Everything Sondheim." Pender joins us with as much Sondheim as an hour will allow.
