Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been visiting China to meet with leaders. 

Mr Albanese met the Chinese president in Beijing on Tuesday for a meeting and lunch.

In his lengthy meeting with the Chinese president, Mr Albanese raised concerns about the lack of notice before Chinese warships conducted live firing exercises and a lap of Australia in February. 

Mr Albanese also visited the Great Wall, and said it's his great honour to visit the site for the second time in his life. He visited for the first time as part of a bipartisan delegation back in the 90s.

Evidence of blast injury has been found inside the brain of a deceased Australian veteran.

While blast injuries have previously been found in the brains of deceased US veterans, this is the first time it has been found in an Australian.

German backpacker Carolina Wilga has been discharged from Perth's Fiona Stanley Hospital after spending five nights recovering from her outback ordeal.

The backpacker was missing for 11 nights in WA's remote outback, north of the Wheatbelt town of Beacon, more than 300 kilometres north-east of Perth.
