Many institutions use some level of mechanical intervention to control relative humidity and moisture contents in interior preservation environments. This session will explore various types of mechanical intervention, including stand-alone equipment and mechanical dehumidification and humidification, as well as the appropriate use and applications of different types of equipment and systems in different settings. Discussion will include risks to building structures, setting appropriate goals in different climate zones, and considerations for disaster response and recovery.
