TUESDAY, AUGUST 12TH

6:30 pm

MEDFORD LIBRARY - LARGE CONFERENCE ROOM

205 S. CENTRAL

MEDFORD, OR 97501

Jackson County Americans for Prosperity Foundation is pleased to co-host our August Chapter meeting with Citizens for Transparent Government.  Our joint meeting promises to be a very informative and eye-opening presentation by Mr. "X" (as heard on KMED radio) and Dennis Linthicum (Klamath County Commissioner).  The topic is "Death of America by Consensus," a presentation that will reveal the truth behind Oregon's Agenda-Based Collaborative Governance.

So is collaboration a bad thing?  And what is "governance" anyway?

Webster's Dictionary has three definitions for collaboration:

1.           to work jointly with others or together especially in an intellectual endeavor

2.     to cooperate with or willingly assist an enemy of one's country . . .

3.           to cooperate with an agency or instrumentality with which one is not immediately connected

It defines "governance" as:  "the way that a city, company, etc., is controlled by the people who run it."

Hmmm . . . just these mere definitions alone would provide for an interesting discussion.  But let's hear what Dennis and Mr. X have to say.  They will be discussing:

·            How Oregon is involved in collaborative governance

·            How it came about--the Kitzhaber/Kulongoski connections

·            Establishment of the Oregon Policy National Consensus Center

·            The Policy Consensus Initiative

·            The University Network for Collaborative Governance

·            Oregon Solutions

·            The Collective Impact of and Drowning Effect of Administrative Law

·            The Effect of Collaborative Governance on Private Property Rights

·            Who are the pre-determined "stakeholders" that are influencing government decisions

·            Nature's Trust Vs. the Public Trust Doctrine

How were things intended to work by our founders?

What are some examples of where this has been implemented?  Where will the continual pattern of governmental entities being "delphied" into "consensus" with pre-determined "stakeholders" of their choosing lead us?  Can we stop it?

The evening will end with an open discussion of ideas of what we can do to turn this ship around toward Libertyland.
