Session Descriptions
Welcome Ceremony: Meet your instructors and peers during a warm welcome right before the start of your first MASTER Seminar! Instructors will be there to answer any lingering questions, comments, or concerns you may have before the start of the next four weeks.

Math: For this course, the class will cover the fundamentals of statistics and probability before going more in depth to understand different ways to use probability. The course will also cover concepts such as factorials, combinations, and permutations. The class will be challenging and fun for all levels of math students.

Art: Art and music are constantly intertwined from symphonies to tapestries. In this course, the focus will be on music theory. Understanding music theory will expand your knowledge and understanding of art.

Science: Science is used in countless ways. Learning about the world around us can give us new solutions to everyday problems. In this class, we will be using different aspects of science, like the water and carbon cycles, microbial ecology, soil chemistry and even tree rings to solve the murder mystery. It is true that a murder mystery is not an everyday problem; however, everything taught in the course can be taken back into everyday life and give us a new way of looking at science.

Technology: Technology is a tool that is used across areas of our lives, from communication devices to educational tools. Technology is used in simple activities of our daily lives to complicated medical procedures that can change our lives. Our MASTER Seminar course on technology will teach the applications of Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Medical Technology.

Engineering: Engineering is the application of science to the development of structures, machines, and systems, built and operated to solve human problems. Engineers find creative solutions that are cost-effective and sustainable. During MASTER engineering sessions, students will explore fields of engineering and engineering technology, and learn basic skills in computer graphics and coding.

Readiness: To conclude our 2021 MASTER Seminar, come chat with all your instructors from the past four weeks about their high school experiences, the best extracurriculars to get involved in, and which classes to take. Feel free to ask any question(s) that may be on your mind about high school!
Which sessions (descriptions above) are you interested in attending? All sessions run from 1:00pm - 2:00pm EST, unless otherwise noted. *
