2.8 out of 5 stars 6 ratings

Happily married people live longer, healthier, wealthier lives. And they donÆt fight any more or less than unhappily married couples. WhatÆs their secret? In this book, youÆll learn the many ways in which couples can build intimacy and reinforce their commitment to one another--every day of the year.

Inside this engaging, enlightening handbook, youÆll find easy things you can do every day to make marriage as happy and fulfilled as it can be, such as:
#10:
Keep one anotherÆs secrets.
Relationship experts say that intimacy is strengthened and marriage bonds deepened when couples regard keeping each otherÆs secrets as a sacred trust. Keeping your word to your spouse makes possible the revealing of vulnerabilities, fears, aspirations, and dreams.

#112:
Have sex tonight. And again tomorrow night.
Couples who have more sex report happier marriages, according to the American Sexual Behavior study conducted by the University of Chicago.

#286:
Stay friendly when arguing.
ItÆs a given that you can forcefully argue your side, so try switching sides to debate your partnerÆs viewpoint. Ask your partner to present your side. Call each other by pet names to keep the conversation friendly.

From impromptu trysts and new sexual positions to couplesÆ retreats and joint acts of charity, these are marital tips and tricks that really work--no matter how long youÆve been married.

Meera Lester's cozy mysteries are based in part on her life on the Henny Penny Farmette, east of the San Francisco Bay. Her debut mystery, A BEELINE TO MURDER, sold out its first printing. Subsequent cozy mystery novels include THE MURDER OF A QUEEN BEE and A HIVE OF HOMICIDES. On her farmette, she tends an orchard of fruit and citrus trees, grows heirloom crops, and keeps heritage chickens and bees.

Meera also writes about health, wellness, and personal empowerment. HOW TO LIVE WITH INTENTION is a primer for living a purposeful life, getting more of what you desire and less of what you don't want. MY POCKET MEDITATIONS serves up inspiration that guides you to finding peace any day, any time, and especially during stressful moments.

A world traveler, Meera's deep interest in ancient spiritual traditions and wellness through yoga and other practices informs her writing. Check out her blog at www.hennypennyfarmette.com. Find her on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

I had no idea it was total neo-liberal, secular progressive trash. A "devotional" page suggesting that you beat off under the sheets while your partner takes a shower, pretending that they're a stranger in the shower? Garbage. I threw it in away instead of returning it, as I felt guilty about not only having such crap in my home, but also to help prevent some other couple from getting it.

"Devotional" is not at all a devotional. This is a really dumb book. I was expecting a Christian book, but it's just a simple book that's not helpful.
