- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2012I have read a ton of books on digital marketing, some better than others. What most often frustrates me is the balance between the breadth of topics covered and the depth in which they are dissected. Most books do one or the other, cover a lot of topics with out detail or dive into a single concept ignoring all the rest. This book is the opposite. If you were to read through this book and follow up on all the resources contained there is nothing about online marketing you wouldn't know. From search engine optimization to social media, web design to online PR, there is a wealth of knowledge about it all.
I often trade, sell or give away books when I am finished with them (as I have too many,) but I will probably keep this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2014This book is absolutely up-to-date (it is 2014 as I write this) and an excellent overview of different on-line techniques. I used the first version of this book in 2012 in my internet and direct marketing class, and was very please it was updated so quickly. Usually books are a few years behind - not this one! Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2012Well done! What a great tool for social media! I love the website that follows the book and I have shared the book with my co-workers. I got great ideas from this book and understand social media so much clearer now!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2012This new book has a permanent place on my desktop (the real one, not the virtual one.) I focused on the Guide's tips for expanding my presence on Facebook and Twitter, and found links to many targeted resources that were new to me - and extremely valuable. There's a very thorough index, which I believe to be a must in any reference book. Thank you Derek and Richard!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2014The book contains an overly broad view of the topic it claims to cover. Quite a bit of the book relies on your ability to delve further into vague discussions by googling it for yourself. If I wanted to use google as my sole resource, I wouldn't be buying your book. Not worth the paper it is written on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just like the title says, this a resource book
If you need to understand the new digital media on a more profound level, you've come to the right place. But be warned, though, this book won't take you by the hand, it expects you to do the hard work and actually visit the sites it is referring to. Sadly, there are little if no illustrations of the sites, so you'll have to invest a good amount of time researching if the mentioned resources are valuable or not for your investigation. Also, resources are not ranked. This is the type of work an assistant to a professor should do because it will eat up a lot of your valuable time. Just be warned before buying this item and expect it to solve all of your research problems.
