Nature reserves are not suitable for pop festivals as they cause significant damage to  grassland and wild life. Before, during and after Shakedown the open areas of Stanmer could not be used by walkers and access was difficult for villagers. Weeks after, the park remains a mud bath and rubbish tip. It will take time and money to restore Stanmer, and it is possible some wildlife will not return. The grass cannot now start to recover until Spring 2013. Have fun and enjoy Pop, but please not in nature reserves. There are suitable alternatives! Stanmer Preservation Society needs your support.
