Oxide Radio Show Pitch
This is to help us understand the type of show you want to broadcast on the station. We'll use your pitch to help us work out things like when to schedule your show, how much studio time and training you'll need, the blurb to go on the website and ultimately whether your show will be commissioned or not.

It should also help you too in firming up your own ideas. Don't worry though - what you're putting down doesn't have to be set in stone. If you are unsure of any of the points, please let us know.

Ok, let's make a radio show.

Section 1: The Basics
Give us a feel of what your show will be about. Try and be as detailed as you can.
Show name (if you have one)
If you don't have a show name, don't worry. We absolutely encourage wacky show names, but they shouldn't be so strange that they're irrelevant to the show itself.
How would you describe your show? *
Only need about 50 words on this - it's likely to form the basis of what we put on the website to promote your show
Take us through what we might hear in a typical show. *
It might help to do this chronologically. If you are a music show, please provide examples of the types of music you will be playing.
If there are any shows that have influenced/inspired your show, or that are similar, please list them here.
These can be from any genre of radio - student, professional etc.
Section 2: Who's Involved?
We require you to nominate one person as a point of contact for your show, as well as providing us with the details of other people involved.
Name of Point of Contact *
College *
Email address *
Mobile number *
Other participants
Please provide us with details of the other regular participants in your show: Name & College
Do you have any roles that you need people for, but haven't yet filled?
We can try and help you find people if you need someone.
Experience *
Please select the option which most accurately describes your experience. PLEASE NOTE: This will not affect whether your show gets comissioned - it just helps us anticipate the amount of training you will need.
Section 3: Technical Details
This section helps us work out what will be needed to ensure your show runs as smoothly as possible. It will also help us decide when to schedule your show.
Will your show be live or pre-recorded? *
Live = at least some parts of the show will be live, although this may include pre-recorded material (such as songs, other clips etc). Pre-recorded = the whole show will be recorded in advance of transmission. We strongly advise shows to be live if possible - pre-recorded shows take much longer to produce and live shows allow you to interact with your audience. If you need further advice, choose 'Other'.
How long do you anticipate each edition of your show will be? *
How often would you ideally want your show to be broadcast? *
Most shows have one or two slots a week.
Will your show require any special equipment?
e.g. DJ decks. We provide most of the basics, such as recording equipment and an editing suite which will be sufficient for most shows.
Section 4: Anything else
Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about your show?
Use this space to cover anything important that you haven't detailed above.
