Parikrama:
We will be walking around Lord Shiva in circumambulation (in a clockwise circle).

Since we have Lord Shiva at the ashram, and in our mandirs at home, we can individually walk around our own blocks, or around Shivalaya.

If someone would like to walk around a trail, they will need to think of a creative way to keep Lord Shiva in the trail.

If someone is not able to leave their home but would like to participate, they can make a space to walk around an altar of Lord Shiva in any room of their home.
*
Chanting Om Namah Shivaya:
For the steps to count toward this sankalpa, we must be  chanting "Om Namah Shivaya" all the while.

For example, walking time spent chatting with friends, on phone calls, or listening to music/lectures/podcasts, do not count towards this sankalpa.
*
Carrying Ganga Jal:
Each participant should carry their own bottle of Ganga Jal. It can be held, or kept in a bag, respectfully.  The Ganga Jal should be kept on our Mandir altar in between walks.

You can get the jal on your own, pick up a bottle at Chinmaya Shivalaya/BV Scarborough, or use some Ganga Jal invoked during your regular puja.

At the end of the sankalpa, we will offer our bottle of Ganga Jal to Lord Shiva during our Mahashivratri Puja. If you do not live in the GTA, you can make your offering on your own Shiva Lingam.

Volume of messages will be restricted to 1 or 2 a day.

Each participant will be able to share via a poll about their progress daily.

Keep track of your steps:
Each of us is responsible for keeping track of our own progress.

To help, we will send an email with a printable calendar that you can print and use to keep track of your steps.
The calendar will also be available for pickup at the ashram.

We suggest keeping this sheet of paper on your mandir altar, and each time you return your bottle of ganga jal, you can update your progress.
