Leadership Development Programme (LDP) Application and Registration Form
The Leadership Development Programme (LDP) seeks to provide veteran PeacePlayers participants with integrated basketball and leadership training with the hope of developing their capacity to be a leader within PeacePlayers, their friends, family and peer group and wider community.

-PROGRAMME OVERVIEW-
PeacePlayers runs LDP programmes in each national site (Cyprus, Northern Ireland, Middle East, United States and South Africa) to offer participants a global curriculum to develop their leadership competencies, equip them with skills to benefit their further education and employability as well as offering experiential learning opportunities, both on and off the basketball court.
Each year, participants will complete Open College Network (OCN) courses, PeacePlayers positive coaches training and PeacePlayers Global Core Values training, building their level of understanding and experience each year.
Participants will be provided with a portfolio of achievements and qualifications on their graduation of the programme, that will hopefully serve them in applications for employment and further or higher education.
On graduation of the programme, participants can apply to join the PeacePlayers coaching team and will be eligible for the PeacePlayers Leadership Academy.

-APPLICATION PROCESS-
We ask that all participants complete the following application and registration form. In line with COVID guidelines, we may need to restrict the number of participants that we can accept into the programme. If this is the case, applications will be assessed and you may be asked to provide a reference. Participants who meet the programme criteria will then be invited to join the programme. With all PeacePlayers programming, we strive to achieve an equitable balance of participants, this will be considered in the selection process.

-PROGRAMME CRITERIA-
This programme is open to young people from 4th year to upper sixth in secondary school or alternative education system (ages 15-18).
This programme is open to young people from across Northern Ireland.
No prior PeacePlayers experience is required, but it would be preferred.
Participants must have a vested interest in developing and applying their leadership skills.

-LOGISTICAL INFORMATION AND PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS-
Participants will be required to attend weekly training sessions from 12-2pm on Saturdays in Valley Leisure Centre** (TBC), maintaining an attendance rate of 60%.
In an attempt to provide a broader cultural awareness of our regional sites, the fourth session of every month will be hosted in a different area site (East/North/South/West Belfast or Larne).
Transport will be provided from selected spots in each area site.

-COVID GUIDANCE-
Please note that LDP will be aiming for face-to-face delivery. This is subject to change based on government regulations and participant exposure to COVID. PeacePlayers is committed to doing our best to ensure the health and safety of our participants and their families and will make this our priority. We will be abiding by all sport COVID regulations and will only be able to continue our programme if everyone is willing to comply by the safety measures. Please see below for more specifics, as well as the COVID procedures document that will be circulated and agreed upon in order to attend.

Thank you so much in advance for your patience and interest in LDP during these very unprecedented times. We so look forward to continuing PeacePlayers!
