Dark Quarter Computer Fund
My name is Wally Phelps and I am a writer, podcaster, and aspiring comedian. None of these things are possible without a working computer.
Well except the comedy, but you would have to go see me do that.
Months ago, in a fit of digitized rage, my computer simply refused to allow me to use it without shutting itself off after only a few minutes of use. Frustrated by not getting the credit that it so rightly deserved, the computer toyed with my emotions by working for days at a time after multiple repair attempts only to completly die out on me.
Now, armed only with a cell phone and a loaner computer from work, I have been forced to write my articles in bite sized fifteen to thirty minute chunks of time, making my output more remarkably terrible than it previously was.
The posdcast I co-host, The Dark Quarter has been on a break during this time as well because of the lack of a working computer and my other non-article writing projects have been few and far between.
So what do you get out of all this?
1. With a new computer, I will be able to produce more frequent episodes of The Dark Quarter Starring the Broke Nerdcast - A monthly pop culture podcast where, along with Jason Robbins and a rotating selection of guests discuss nerdy subjects to frequently comedic results.
2. I would be able to write more Broke Nerdtoons - A comic strip co-produced with artist and writing partner, Jason Robbins.
3. I will be able to contribute more articles to Deep South Daily where I am a contributer to the Culture section.
4. I would be your best friend forever.*
*Your resluts may vary.
Honestly, I would completly understand if you were to donate to causes that actually mean something (as opposed to this cause that only affects myself, my writing partners, and the one fan I have from Japan - konnichiwa!), but if you have money left over or would enjoy new material from me at a quicker rate, please consider donating.
