FITS stands for Framework for ICT Technical Support. It aims to provide a complete structure for school IT support and all aspects of technical support will be addressed. It is a collection of best practice processes from IT support providers all over the UK. It represents their learning curve over many years which Becta has taken and tailored specifically for schools. This has resulted in a set of processes and tools for you to use ‘off the shelf’.
The FITS Practitioner course is run in London by the Redbridge IT Unit, part of the London Borough of Redbridge. The cost will be £510.00 per delegate however if you are a member of the London Grid for Learning we are offering a discount of 20%. This makes the cost £408.00 plus V.A.T. This charge covers the cost of the materials, examination fees, refreshments and the running of the course.
The FITS Advanced course will cost will be £710.00 per delegate however if you are a member of the London Grid for Learning community, I have negotiated a discount reducing the cost to £600.00 plus V.A.T.
All purchase orders should be made out to the London Borough of Redbridge and sent to the Redbridge Teachers' Centre marked for the attention of Gary Jelks. The invoice will come from 'The London Borough of Redbridge' all payments will need to be sent to the Cashier’s Office, 22/26 Clements Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 1BD.
The course is run over two days and is held at the Redbridge Teachers’ Centre. Day one will cover the course materials and there will be some light homework for the evening. Day two will consist of revision and case studies. After lunch will be the examination. This is an online, ninety minute, multiple choice exam questions.
