Merry Kiss Me is book one of the Kiawah Kisses Series, a collection of steamy small-town romances set in low country South Carolina. Each book follows the journey of four best friends: Symone, Tara, Nicole, and Keisha as they each fall for their own Gullah hometown hero and learn to love again!

A decade after leaving home, culinary magazine editor Symone Farris is heading back to Kiawah Island for the holidays. She’s escaping New York and a failed engagement to reconnect with her grandmother’s storied restaurant and speakeasy, The Haint. But before she can say “Merry Christmas,” she’s fighting her mother’s campaign to sell the beloved establishment to the local real estate developer and love she left behind without notice ten years ago.

Rhue Baines loves three things, Christmas, family, and the Lowcountry sea islands he calls home. He understands the needs of his island community because he’s never left. When his ex, Symone blows back into town demanding he stop the planned redevelopment of her family’s land, he’s determined to get his way.

As Christmas approaches they both begin to remember what made them fall in love all those years ago. But when the past finally catches up with them, can their hearts survive the crash?

"Merry Kiss Me" is an updated re-release of Ms. Lennox's "Memories & Mistletoe," with updated chapters and story lines. It is a steamy holiday romance that introduces readers to the characters in the subsequent books featured in the"Kiawah Kisses," Series!

Merry Kiss Me was such a beautiful Christmas story about coming home, past love and the power that one person can have over you even after years apart.

Louise Lennox is a new to me author and I am in love!! For such a short book the history, heritage and community Lennox spoke about pulled you in just as much as the love story between Symone & Rhue.

Symone is coming home to Kiawah Island for the holidays leaving New York and her ex-fiancé behind. She is writing a piece for work that will highlight the Island's cuisine, culture and The Haint. Her grandmother's restaurant and speakeasy. The Haint was the place Symone grew up surrounded by her grandmother and her friends. One friend specifically, Rhue Baines. Rhue was her first everything and now it has been a decade since she last saw him, but time changes people and Symone might get more than she bargained for.

Rhue understands his home, the Lowcountry island where he grew up. All he wants his to surround himself by his family and the island that he loves. In doing that he must do what is best for the island even if that means closing The Haint. He is not the same boy he was a decade ago and now his love has blown back into town and the feelings he once thought were gone are just as present as the day she left. Symone doesn't know the island anymore and she doesn't know what is best for the community, but Rhue is going to do everything in his power to make sure his plans to better the island and its community move forward.

Symone & Rhue had the instant chemistry you always want to read about. The delicious push and pull from childhood to adulthood is ever present with them from Symone's first moment back on the island and I just wanted to drown in it. Symone was determined to do and be exactly what she thought she wanted despite the consequences and Rhue just wanted to love her. Rhue was one of those book hero's you will be swooning over for days!!

Merry Kiss Me had all the points I look for in a good romance and so many others I didn't even know I needed. A beautiful island community, Christmas and past lovers come together in one of the best books I have read this year. I cannot wait to get to book two Kiss of Life.

I super enjoyed this story, but it most definitely lacked Christmas. The story took place in December, around Christmas, but it was rarely talked about. Rhue and Symone were lovable. Their story was somewhat developed, but there were some parts that definitely could've used more plot development. Especially with Symone's mom. In one breath she's bashing Symone and talking down to her, the next she's apologizing, asking for forgiveness. That lady was toxic. The end was super rushed. But I loved getting to know the couple. They had lots of chemistry…both romantic and sexual chemistry. This was my first read by this author. While I wasn't extremely wowed, I would definitely check out more from her catalog.

Rhue and Symone broke up after a relationship since childhood. Symone moved away and forgot about her family following her grandmother's death. Symone never explained why she left or why she never returned. She had a man of several years, but he wasn't Rhue. Many years later, Symone was back in town; she was in Kiawah with her dysfunctional family and the memories. Thankfully, by the end of this reunion, the ex-lovers were again singing the same tune.

Great story about true love
When you really love someone like This and Symons the main characters in the story, Years apart does not make a difference
The author did a great job making the characters relatable and the supporting characters likable
This is my third book I have read by this author
She really gives you a realistic glimpse of the geographical area the story takes place and makes it alive for you and make you want to visit the area for yourself. I am an avid traveler so I would definitely find this a highlight for me
This was an very romantic and interesting story and you will enjoy it

On the balance of it, I liked this book. The premise is that Symone and Rhue were childhood best friends turned high school sweethearts in a rural Gullah island community in South Carolina. Due to some traumas in her life, Symone abandoned Rhue 10 years ago without a word as they were about to graduate from college. Now, with a newly broken engagement under her belt, Symone is returning to town.

Through most of the reading, this was a 2-star book because of Symone, the heroine. She was kind of immature and entitled and for some reason so one was willing to call her on either of those two things for most of the book and I couldn’t quite tell why. She has some casually snobby comments and was sort of a passenger in her own life even though she had so much privilege and agency- I just didn’t really get her as a character. For me, the last quarter of this Christmas romance sort of salvaged things. Yes, the resolutions were somewhat easily won, but if you’re looking for a spicy Christmas romance m that’s is going to be set around a friend group in their 30s, this is an alright entry into the series. I just didn’t particularly care for the heroine.

Wow, such incredible writing. I loved this story and the way Louise writes. I had to look up Kiawah to see if it was a real place, which it is, and someplace I would love to visit. Going to read Kiss of Life now…

Hot, hot, hot! There's a lot of sex in this little short story. Nevertheless, it is very sweet and creative.

The only aspect that bothered me was the spoiled girl cliche and the doting guy. It could be that personally it's grating to me, but I still finished the story, so, maybe not so much to many people.

There's no cliffhanger, but it is a series. Nice book.

This book is everything. Louise Lennox never fails! I started this book and literally could not put it down. Exciting, captivating, well-written, great story and character development are all ways to describe this literary piece. Can’t wait for the next book to come.
