Qualifications
Article 4: Qualifications for Associated Student Body and Class Officers
Section 1: A. No students shall be a candidate for office who has been suspended from school during the term before his/her candidacy or he/she does not have a good citizenship record during the year of his/her candidacy unless decided otherwise by the Director of Student Activities and the Assistant Principal.
B. No student shall be a candidate for office if he/she has more than one truancy during the term before his/her candidacy.
C. No student shall be a candidate for office unless he/she has at least a G.P.A of 2.5 with no F grades.
D. No student shall be a candidate for office unless he/she has a good attendance record as determined by the school administration.
Article 5: Duties of the Class Officers
Section 5: Class President
A. Shall organize their class and class functions in an orderly manner.
B. Shall preside over all class meetings.
C. Shall have an active role in all class activities.
D. Shall keep open communications with advisors.
E. Shall be enrolled in the Student Government class during his/her term of office.
F. Shall perform other duties as assigned by the Class Advisors or Director of Student Activities.
Section 8: Class Secretary/Treasurer
A. Shall record the minutes at all class meetings.
B. Shall extend congratulations, condolences, or thank you letters in the name of the class.
C. Shall have an active role in all class activities.
D. Shall be enrolled in the Student Government class during his/her term of office.
E. Shall perform other duties as assigned by the Class Advisors or Director of Student Activities.
F. Shall keep a detailed record of all class deposits and expenditures.
G. Shall submit a report of all class finances at the end of the term to the class advisors.
*SPECIAL NOTE: MEMBERS AT LARGE SERVE AS MEMBERS OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT WITHOUT A TITLE. THEY ARE HELD TO THE SAME STANDARDS OF CONDUCT AS OTHER ASB MEMBERS, BUT THEY DO NOT RUN FOR ELECTION…THEY ARE CHOSEN THROUGH AN INTERVIEW PROCESS.*
