About the Author

Over thirty years ago, Khurshed and Dinesh while studying at IIT Bombay, discovered meditation through Art of Living courses. They had both always wanted to make a difference to the people around them, and so, in their early twenties, they chose the unconventional path of being Art of Living teachers. Since then, they have taught Yoga and Meditation to hundreds of thousands of people in more than 35 countries worldwide.

Besides this book, they have co-authored two other books: Ready, Study, Go! and Happiness Express. Their first two books have sold more than 100,000 copies and have been translated into Hindi, Tamil and Bulgarian. They are sought-after speakers, and are invited across the world to speak on a variety of topics. They have an award-winning YouTube channel—www.youtube.com/bndtv. Khurshed holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics from IIT Bombay. He is a Parsi and is fondly called Bawa, a nickname he inherited from his IIT days. More than 20 years ago, he decided he would rather teach people how to meditate and make them happy instead of teaching them math and making them miserable. He became an Art of Living teacher and this allowed him to do exactly that and gave him the freedom to explore many of his varied passions.

He has organised many events for the Art of Living in many capacities... from a volunteer on the ground to being in charge of an event of 200,000+

He loves music and plays the piano, is a foodie and runs the Cafe at the Art of Living Bangalore Ashram, enjoys long walks, is a certified Cranio Sacral Therapist, has designed his own board game called Mumbai Connection, is passionate about the environment, likes books, movies and theatre with happy endings... And absolutely enjoys teaching.

With Dinesh, he has co-authored his first book - Ready Study Go! - Smart Ways to Learn, being published by Harper Collins India, scheduled to be in bookstores by December 2016.

He has created workshops to teach mind mapping, mathematics (not the type that makes you miserable), cooking yummy vegetarian food, and how to appreciate western classical music.

His latest workshop is 'Use Your Brain' and is based off a few chapters from his book. It creates a paradigm shift in the way you learn. It makes the process of studying efficient, enjoyable and meaningful. It will change the way you think and possibly even bring about a transformation in the way you live.

He is a highly acclaimed and prolific speaker having represented Art of Living in many National and International fora. He has given numerous TEDx talks all over India.

What I love about the authors is their depth of the subject, the simplicity ,authenticity and lightness with which it is delivered to the reader. This is very typical of Bawa and Dinesh. ( I read their earlier two books too, Ready Study Go, Happiness Express) . They don’t preach, it’s NOT just information on Sleep and Success. It’s what they implemented in their lives and are practising. It’s Wisdom. They do not shy away from sharing their own personal stories that are quite interesting and inspire you to implement and integrate the valuable guidelines, lessons into your life. Other thing that stands out is that they are clear on what is negotiable and what is non negotiable be it about Sleep or Success. It’s a must read for all, but I am in IT profession myself and I see sleep being overridden as a matter of fact and people take pride in it. I wish everyone in IT to read this book, implement the small little changes so they are more productive, happy , healthy and successful. The book has some great wisdom and lines . Your view on failure will change as you read the author’s story and his conclusion. Quoting a line here.. ‘…I couldn’t consider the first event as a failure. It had actually been a carefully crafted opportunity for me to learn…..’. Isn’t that beautiful? You will love it all the more when you read what that event is in the context of the chapter ‘Allies and Power-ups’. And it has some lovely poems embedded in between the chapters, filled with wisdom, wit and riddles. Explore yourself . See what you like in the book and implement. Now needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and have quite a few take aways that I am planning to implement.     The title captured my attention, because somehow in today's time sleepless nights are glorified for achieving success. Secondly, we spend almost 1/3rd of our lives in sleep state, about which we honestly know absolutely nothing.

    The book in a very interesting fashion tells us what the dimension of sleep is, it is really fascinating to know it. Secondly, it gives a plethora of practical techniques to enhance the quality of your sleep (you can pick and choose the ones, you resonate with). Thirdly, the book scientifically explains the importance of sleep and how it affects us. Fourth, the authors have shared some time tested wisdom with us based on their personal experiences- one that stuck with me is the difference between "courage zone" and "overwhelming zone"- I even implemented it in my life and the result was as mentioned in the book.
    Not to forget Dinesh Ghodke's super duper amazing poems that complimented each chapter so very well. How do you write such poems Sir?!

    In all, this book will definitely give you solid takeaways, unlike many other non fiction books for me atleast.

    This book "Sleep Your Way to Success" by Bawa and Dinesh completely changed the way I think about sleep! Before reading it, I just saw sleep as something you have to do, not something that could actually help me be better at everything.

    I am so grateful to have realised the importance of Sleep in carving a pathway to Success at this stage of my life. Better late than never, i guess.
    Khurshed Batliwala Dinesh Ghadke (the authors) have provided many suggestions and activities/exercises on how to improve one's sleep. I am a science(y) person and I must say that both the authors have been able to convince me by adding scientific facts and theories at just the right places.
    The suggestions doesn't end with the book, there are references to videos of simple yoga stretches, exercises, meditation, etc which one can watch and do on their own.
    I will be recommending this book for a long time.
