Area 10 Agency on Aging’s annual Safe at Home Event, a half-day blitz to improve home safety for our older neighbors in Monroe and Owen counties, is needing volunteers for Saturday, 10/1 from 9 to noon (or less, depending on project). We have several projects that need volunteers. The types of work needed are listed below, all different projects.
Non-skilled individuals are needed for cleaning gutters, pulling weeds (need knowledge of weed vs. plant).
Skilled individuals are needed for caulking around exterior windows (first story), replacing deck board on stair treads, rehanging stair risers, screwing down deck board, and replacing storm door on mobile home.
We’re needing volunteers by 9/16 to match with a project and determine which homes we can do based on volunteers.
