Met Council and countless other organizations are taking action in the coming weeks with S.O.A.P. (Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution) to provide support to victims of human trafficking who may be in New York and New Jersey during the upcoming Super Bowl XLVIII.
Volunteers will placed into teams of at least two and approach hotels in targeted areas to offer them posters of missing children and free bars of soap with the National Human Trafficking Hotline on the inside wrapper. Prior to mobilizing the volunteers, Met Council volunteer and family violence staff will give a thorough training and provide all the necessary tools and supplies for canvassing.
Who- up to 30 volunteers. Must be 18 and older to participate. We suggest signing up with a partner.
When- Thursday, Jan 30th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
