Kaiser Permanente San Jose and Santa Clara are proud to present our 2018 Seeds of Hope. Please join us for a free, fun day for the entire family. This year we are focusing on the mental and emotional wellness for those in the cancer care community. There will be workshops, wellness activities, educational booths, kids fun zones, and more!

Guest Speaker Information

Dr. Dianne Shumay is a clinical health psychologist, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, and Director of the Psycho-Oncology Service at UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. She works with cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones to help with a wide range of needs, such as stress management and coping, behavioral and mind body approaches for symptoms such as pain, fatigue and insomnia. Her research focuses on designing and testing of cognitive, behavioral, and mindfulness interventions to target the psychological and physical symptoms of cancer and cancer treatment.

Michael Riley is a professional actor, comedian, team builder and cancer survivor. He believes that one of the few things we have control over in our lives is our attitude.

Hear him deliver his encore performance of an act that he debuted last year at the Dragon Theater and was featured in the Mercury News- “Attitude is Everything or Cancer Sucks, So Let’s Have Fun!”
