- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI don’t give up five stars lightly, I believe that a frank and accurate review is important. With that having been said, I would just say that this book is nothing short of spectacular.
The book is well organized, well written, Provides a fresh perspective, and is absolutely a page turner. I particularly liked Abby’s view on Durigg’s thoughts on habits as they pertain to “safety habits“. Abby builds on the work of Durigg and others and applies that to worker safety. In a world where so many people want to blame workers for their poor choices it is refreshing to Find a safety professional who understands many of our choices are actually just habits. Kudos to Abby for this magnificent work
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWell organized and logical book full of insight and gems that helped me learn because safety can have surprises. Abby kept it short, simple and to the point. I wish other safety professionals, that talk too much, heeded her advice and cut out the non-essential information from books, presentations, podcasts, etc. Perhaps there's a lesson in there for politicians too.
Totally agree with Abby that safety professionals have a problem. They attempt to communicate before steps are taken to related to workers; before any level of trust is formed.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is an awesome little gem that anyone (but especially safety professionals) can use to enhance the outcome of their life, and ultimately safety. Abby minces no words and "surprises" you page after page with this real, timely wisdom.
If you need more structure, and ultimately more safety, in your life... you need to read this. You'll be building new habits in just a few minutes (even if you're a slow reader like me).
- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIt wasn't an awful book but its coverage of safety as a habit was superficial. There is much more detail and content that could have been included to help people really build a safety habit. I felt a lot of what was covered is common sense.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseSometimes you get to meet people who have what it takes to lead. Sometimes you don’t. Abby Ferri has a true command of the “The Safety Habit.” She shares these examples in her latest book. I am proud of her, and this is an amazing read. Take a good look at yourself in the mirror, do you have what it takes? Abby certainly does.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAlthough we have our differences of opinion, Abby Ferri posed an exceptional argument on how to incorporate industrial safety into our lives.
Now that the first book is under your belt, we look forward to more!
Thanks Abby!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA short read with excellent advice for adopting the safety habit in your own life and influencing others as well. Abby turns the written word into a mantra for becoming a role model for all those people in your life that matter! Highly recommended!!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAbby has a simple way to deliver her safety message to different audiences. We, the safety professional come from different ethnic backgrounds, we perceive safety differently. Abby can build that bridge to connect with people and make safety a memorable experience, that is this book to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books on safety to come along in a while
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is a no nonsense practical & impactful book packed with solid advice and ideas on every page. It will be my go to book to provide to novices I mentor and others I hope to influence. Being a safety professional now for 27 years it is refreshing to come across a great safety book that isn’t blah blah blah boring. It was the polar opposite, suddenly I have finished the book and wanted more. Who has ever thought that at the end of a safety book? No one, ever. Safety professionals that want to have a positive impact should read this book. Then put it into practice.
