Western Toad Sightings
Please use this form to report sightings of Western Toads in Island County to Whidbey Environmental Action Network, which seeks this information to assess Western Toad recovery status and needs. Your data will be kept anonymous and your privacy will be protected. 

Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife designates Western Toads as Priority Species, and in 2020 the Washington State Court of Appeals ruled in WEAN's favor to uphold protections of upland toad habitat in Island County. 

 A fist-sized, chunky, short-legged, warty amphibian with distinct knobs (glands) where you might expect ears  and sometimes a light-colored stripe running down the middle of the back.
