Gena Castro Rodriquez, LMFT, in partnership with San Francisco Mental Health Education Funds, Inc. and Psycho-Legal Associates, Inc. is presenting the seventh training of the 2013 Trauma Training Series. Continuing Education Credits (CEU) will be offered for MFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs.
Workshop Description:
Many people who access mental health services have experienced trauma and these experiences shape their responses to treatment and services. Trauma Informed Care (TIC) is an approach to engaging people who have histories of trauma including awareness and understanding of the role trauma has played in their
lives. Workshop participants will learn to apply TIC strategies to various aspects of treatment including environments, policies and procedures, and program development and delivery. We will focus on the National Center for Trauma Informed Care efforts to change the paradigm from “what’s wrong with you?” to “what has happened to you?”.
