  • Bro. Wesley Howard, Facilitator

This workshop is for those who are interested in how the medium of Hip Hop music has and can be utilized to promote a positive social consciousness, political awareness, and societal reform. Within this workshop, we will address how the medium of Hip Hop and Spoken Word can be utilized to encourage the disinherited, expose injustice, and free up the spiritually incarcerated. For many millennials, Spoken Word and Hip Hop music have become a vehicle for putting “Word that became flesh” into words that speak life. Join the emerging voices of Brother Wesley Howard and a host of other artists, as they unpack how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is transforming lives through these powerful mediums.

  • Voices of the Future (Teen Talk)
    Facilitator: Deacon Jared Deane

Note: Participants will register for 9:15 am and 10:45

This session is designed for teens. During this session, the participants will have an opportunity to discuss what it means to be a young man of faith in the world today. We will discuss the issue of what are the real-life obstacles that block us from claiming our gifts. Through a series of personal reflections, interactive presentations, and discussions, the young men will discover ways to better strengthen their relationships with God, their peers, and how to be better ambassadors for God in their communities. Participants will register for 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

  • Rev. Mark Barclay

The African American Community is under siege. The effects of white supremacy are visible through spiritual, historical, and psychological alienation we are witnessing in our community. We often shy away from spaces and places that are frequented by men, women, and children waiting for the church to not simply talk about Jesus but be about Jesus. This workshop is for those who feel God is calling them to engage in ministry beyond the four walls of the church
