Family means everything to Widnel - he comes from a large, loving family. Widnel is a history teacher in NYC - working 2 jobs plus a summer job and saving every penny to afford this journey. As a Hispanic, single man, Widnel faced an uphill battle talking to his family and community about being a gay parent and surrogacy. But his family has rallied around him and are so excited to be grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. They can't wait to welcome a new baby. Widnel hopes that he can inspire other single men to pursue their dreams of becoming a father.
