About Festival Host Maikaze Daiko

Maikaze Daiko is a San Francisco-based performance ensemble and taiko dojo. Our name, “Dancing Wind”, reflects our focus on innovative arrangements, precision taiko playing, and creative use of movement and space. Maikaze Daiko performs work that expresses a fresh perspective on the rich world of taiko drumming today. Founded in 2007 by Bruce “Mui” Ghent, Maikaze Daiko offers a range of classes open to the public at our home, Dance Mission Theater. |
