F.A.Qs (Frequently Asked Questions)
1. What if I have already received a debate/moderator spot for the December 14th date?
If you have already received a debate or moderator spot prior to us rescheduling, you still keep that debate! Emails asking for your confirmation have been sent by our debate committee ([email protected]). Please respond by December 29th, 2013 in order to keep your spot. Failure to do so will result in your spot being reassigned.
2. I have not previously registered and would like to preregister for the conference. Can I still preregister now?
Yes! As we have now rescheduled the conference to January 11, 2014, preregistration will be open until January 10th, 2014. You may preregister here: http://tinyurl.com/worldconprereg
Preregistration is highly recommended in order to expedite registration on the day of the event.
3. Can I sign up for debates or moderator spots now that the event has been rescheduled?
Unfortunately, not at this time. As all debate spots have already been filled, we have sent confirmation emails to those who received the debates. If the individuals do not respond or decline, the spots will be reassigned to the pool of applicants who have signed up for debates previously. In the case that we are unable to fulfill debate spots, debates may open up. However, this is unlikely as there are already many applicants. The distribution of debates is completely at the discretion of the Director of Debate and the Debate Committee.
4. I have already preregistered for the event prior to December 14, but I will not be able to attend the January 11 date. What do I do?
If you have preregistered prior to December 14, you are expected to attend! If you know for a fact that you have preregistered, and will NOT be able to make it to WorldCon, please email [email protected]. If you are not sure, or have further questions, please talk to an officer immediately.
5. I'm not sure if I preregistered, but I can make it to WorldCon on January 11 and want my name on the preregistration list.
If you are not sure, but are DEFINITELY attending, simply fill out the preregistration form again. All duplicate entries will be handled by the Events Committee.
6. What exactly is business casual attire?
