Welcome to the XYY Breeders' Association! This thread is to organize Flight Rising's numerous XYY fans by their hatcheries, to include them on future ping lists, and actively connect them with each other.

A dragon or breeding pair is called an XYY (or X/Y/Y) when its secondary and tertiary colors are identical. In the case of breeding pairs, the offspring they produce must conform with the XYY Breeders' Association breeding standard. It is highly preferred, but not required, for these dragons to have a tertiary gene to display their matching colors.

More specifically, a dragon with a matching secondary and tertiary color. Genes and breed do not play a role in the qualification process, nor does the dragon's primary color. [b]Triple Exceptions[/b] The only exception is a primary color that matches the secondary and tertiary, which disqualifies the dragon from receiving an XYY qualification. Note that a triple can still be used to produce XYY offspring, and can qualify as one half of a breeding pair. General Standard
The XYY Breeders' Association is exclusively focused on color. More specifically, a dragon with a matching secondary and tertiary color. Genes and breed do not play a role in the qualification process, nor does the dragon's primary color.

Triple Exceptions
The only exception is a primary color that matches the secondary and tertiary, which disqualifies the dragon from receiving an XYY qualification. Note that a triple can still be used to produce XYY offspring, and can qualify as one half of a breeding pair.

Tertiary Genes
Tertiary genes on XYY breeding pairs are highly encouraged, and breeders with a breeding pair showing at least one guaranteed tertiary gene in their offspring are demarcated by a triple asterisk (***) on the Breeders List. The gene itself does not matter, and players with breeding pairs that lack a guaranteed tert gene in their offspring are still eligible to apply as XYY breeders.

This pairing (Taarnfalk's) will produce an XYY 50% (1:2) of the time. The primary range/color does not matter.

A Tier Three Breeder has at least one breeding pair with a 16.6-49% chance to produce XYY offspring. Several examples are given below, but many more possibilities exist within this statistical range.

This pairing (OverlordFreya's) has a 16.7% (1/6) chance to produces XYYs, or 1/3 times 1/4 times the 2 colors that overlap between them. (1/3)*(1/4)*2=16.7. The primary range/color does not matter.

This is the XYYBA Master list and registration process for our breeders. You must be on this list to be an XYYBA member! Add yourself and see the "Become a Breeder" section below for more information.

XYYBA Breeders' Directory

Find out what people are breeding in their hatchery! This is an optional spreadsheet to fill out, but may help sell hatchlings and connect members with each other.

After being added to the registered XYY breeders list, players may use Association badges. All badges were designed by the incomparable Foayasha and can be found in the Badge Library in the post above.

Important Things to Read

Please add yourself to the XYYBA Master Breeders' List Google Doc. Read the directions on how to do that fully (see below).
To add yourself as a breeder, right click on the cell for row 3 and select "Insert 1 above."
Add your registration number in column A. These numerically rise with each new player, so if the previous player was number 999, you will be number 1000.
Add your FR Username in column B, and your FR ID number in column C. Add your XYYBA Tier in column D, and the date you added yourself to the spreadsheet in columns E through G.
In column H, link your primary hatchery page. You may add hatchery notes in column J. These last two columns of the spreadsheet are optional but recommended. See my player registration (the first entry at the bottom) for an example.
Do not delete or edit ANY information from the spreadsheet unless it is in your own row.
To search for your name on the Master Breeders' List, place your cursor in the top left empty cell (between column A and row 1), which highlights the whole spreadsheet, and search using Ctrl+F.
Do not advertise your hatchlings until you have added yourself as a registered breeder.
You must have a hatchery page to join, and it is highly recommended that you list it on the Master Breeders List for other players to find. This can be an FR Sales Thread page, a Tumblr site denoting your pairs, a Weebly page, etc. Your XYY pairs should be listed somewhere on this Hatchery page.
As mentioned earlier, you are not able to join multiple Tiers. You will join the highest Tier for which you are eligible. This means having 50 Fluke pairs and 1 Tier One pair will qualify you for Tier One breedership. Do not list multiple Tiers on your row.

I won't be able to link you in the breeders' post if you don't have a separate hatchery page. I get a lot of questions about this, and have tried to be lax on what qualifies as a "hatchery" so more players are eligible to join. If you want to use a generic sales thread that's fine, but please show your XYY pairs somewhere on the page. This is for other XYYBA members to use as a reference to the colors, genes, and breeds you produce. [b][Q] Do certain genes or breeds count for more than others?[/b] [A] Nope! Colors are our priority here, so a matching secondary and tertiary count for more than anything else. [b][Q] Do I have to be a registered breeder to be added to the Ping List?[/b] [A] No, you do not have to be a registered breeder. Please Ping Possum if you're looking for specific XYYs and she can put you on the Ping List with a note beside your name. [b][Q] What's the difference between the Specific Ping List, General Ping List, and Master Ping List?[/b] [A] The Specific Ping List means you've created and completed a column on the IC Spreadsheet Google Doc. You can change this information at will to update the colors, genes, and breeds you're hoping to find. The General Ping List means other breeders can Ping you for any of their hatchlings, so you will be notified frequently. The Master Ping List is for moderators [i]only[/i] and is not available to members. The Master Ping List is for XYYBA announcements only and will not be used to notify anyone about hatchlings. [b][Q] I'm new, so do I have to add my own column to the IC Spreadsheet?[/b] [A] Yes. You add your own column to the end of the spreadsheet and input your seeking preferences after you've been accepted as an XYYBA Breeder. [b][Q] So can I use the Master Ping List to tell everyone about my hatchlings? Why do I have to use the Breeders' Ping List on the front page?[/b] [A] NO. FIRM AND LOUD NO. You may not use the Master Ping List, which includes every member and is only used for official XYYBA announcements, unless you are a moderator, i.e. Foayasha, Abril, or Possum. The Breeders' Ping List on the front page is designed to be specifically for players to find potential buyers as specified on the list, and limit errant Pings. It will be removed if it's abused. [b][Q] Do triples count as XYYs? [/b] [A] No, as individual dragons they'd be XXXs. However, triple colored parents can produce XYY offspring, and would be eligible for lower Tier (Two and down) qualifications. For example, a triple rose father and triple pink mother are capable of producing rose/pink/pink and pink/rose/rose, thus qualifying them for Tier Three (1:6 chance of XYY). Similarly, a triple gold father and a forest/gold/gold mother qualify for Tier One status, as their offspring, barring triples, are guaranteed to be XYY. [b][Q] How wide or small does my pairings' primary color spectrum need to be?[/b] [A] It can be as wide or as selective as you want! As long as the offspring is not guaranteed to be a triple (XXX), the primary colors can fall anywhere on the color wheel. [b][Q] What if I only have one guaranteed XYY breeding pair and a bunch of Flukes? Do I still qualify for Tier One?[/b] [A] Yes. The requirement to be a Tier One breeder is only [u]one[/u] guaranteed XYY breeding pair. The rest of your pairs may be Flukes, but you still count as a Tier One breeder. See also the [i]Tier Climbing[/i] note on the Breeding Standard post. [b][Q] Can I specify what type of XYY I'm interested in being pinged about?[/b] [A] Yes, but someone could mis-ping you anyway. Keep this in mind if you're easily bothered by stray notifications. [b][Q] Does the search column on the IC Spreadsheet remove people who aren't interested in the criteria I searched?[/b] No. You have to sort through the IC Spreadsheet Google Doc columns yourself to determine who is interested in your hatchlings. Even using the sort feature doesn't removed disinterested parties, so keep in mind that a blank cell does not mean they are looking for that color, gene, or breed. Blank means disinterested. Yes, this is clunky, but it's better than not sorting for a user at all, and we're always looking for new methods to filter. [b][Q] Can I advertise my XYY hatchlings on this thread?[/b] [A] If you are a registered XYY Breeder (i.e. you have been notified of your acceptance), absolutely. But please don't add anything but your XYY babies, and handle negotiations or haggling privately. Furthermore, please do not bump this thread. [b][Q] What are the rules about re-pinging other breeders if my hatchlings don't sell?[/b] Please do not re-ping other members when reposting your hatchlings that haven't sold from a previous XYYBA post. You may only re-ping people if you've added more dragons for sale in your post. The moderators have noticed a large number of repetitive pings from page-to-page without changing the content of the post. We will kindly ask you to stop if you are a serial poster of either the IC Spreadsheet (Specific Ping List) or General Ping List. For example, Possum has three XYY hatchlings for sale on Monday. She posts them in the XYYBA thread and notifies everyone on the General Ping List. No one answers and nothing sells, so she re-pings everyone on Tuesday. This is serial pinging and is not allowed. If she'd added two more [i]new [/i]hatchlings to the post on Tuesday, a re-ping is allowed. [b][Q] Is the XYYBA on Tumblr?[/b] [A] Yes and no. [Q] Do I need a breeding thread or hatchery to be a member?
[A] Yes. I won't be able to link you in the breeders' post if you don't have a separate hatchery page. I get a lot of questions about this, and have tried to be lax on what qualifies as a "hatchery" so more players are eligible to join. If you want to use a generic sales thread that's fine, but please show your XYY pairs somewhere on the page. This is for other XYYBA members to use as a reference to the colors, genes, and breeds you produce.

[Q] Do certain genes or breeds count for more than others?
[A] Nope! Colors are our priority here, so a matching secondary and tertiary count for more than anything else.

[Q] Do I have to be a registered breeder to be added to the Ping List?
[A] No, you do not have to be a registered breeder. Please Ping Possum if you're looking for specific XYYs and she can put you on the Ping List with a note beside your name.

[Q] What's the difference between the Specific Ping List, General Ping List, and Master Ping List?
[A] The Specific Ping List means you've created and completed a column on the IC Spreadsheet Google Doc. You can change this information at will to update the colors, genes, and breeds you're hoping to find. The General Ping List means other breeders can Ping you for any of their hatchlings, so you will be notified frequently. The Master Ping List is for moderators only and is not available to members. The Master Ping List is for XYYBA announcements only and will not be used to notify anyone about hatchlings.

[Q] I'm new, so do I have to add my own column to the IC Spreadsheet?
[A] Yes. You add your own column to the end of the spreadsheet and input your seeking preferences after you've been accepted as an XYYBA Breeder.

[Q] So can I use the Master Ping List to tell everyone about my hatchlings? Why do I have to use the Breeders' Ping List on the front page?
[A] NO. FIRM AND LOUD NO. You may not use the Master Ping List, which includes every member and is only used for official XYYBA announcements, unless you are a moderator, i.e. Foayasha, Abril, or Possum. The Breeders' Ping List on the front page is designed to be specifically for players to find potential buyers as specified on the list, and limit errant Pings. It will be removed if it's abused.

[Q] Do triples count as XYYs?
[A] No, as individual dragons they'd be XXXs. However, triple colored parents can produce XYY offspring, and would be eligible for lower Tier (Two and down) qualifications. For example, a triple rose father and triple pink mother are capable of producing rose/pink/pink and pink/rose/rose, thus qualifying them for Tier Three (1:6 chance of XYY). Similarly, a triple gold father and a forest/gold/gold mother qualify for Tier One status, as their offspring, barring triples, are guaranteed to be XYY.

[Q] How wide or small does my pairings' primary color spectrum need to be?
[A] It can be as wide or as selective as you want! As long as the offspring is not guaranteed to be a triple (XXX), the primary colors can fall anywhere on the color wheel.

[Q] What if I only have one guaranteed XYY breeding pair and a bunch of Flukes? Do I still qualify for Tier One?
[A] Yes. The requirement to be a Tier One breeder is only one guaranteed XYY breeding pair. The rest of your pairs may be Flukes, but you still count as a Tier One breeder. See also the Tier Climbing note on the Breeding Standard post.

[Q] Can I specify what type of XYY I'm interested in being pinged about?
[A] Yes, but someone could mis-ping you anyway. Keep this in mind if you're easily bothered by stray notifications.

[Q] Does the search column on the IC Spreadsheet remove people who aren't interested in the criteria I searched?
No. You have to sort through the IC Spreadsheet Google Doc columns yourself to determine who is interested in your hatchlings. Even using the sort feature doesn't removed disinterested parties, so keep in mind that a blank cell does not mean they are looking for that color, gene, or breed. Blank means disinterested. Yes, this is clunky, but it's better than not sorting for a user at all, and we're always looking for new methods to filter.

[Q] Can I advertise my XYY hatchlings on this thread?
[A] If you are a registered XYY Breeder (i.e. you have been notified of your acceptance), absolutely. But please don't add anything but your XYY babies, and handle negotiations or haggling privately. Furthermore, please do not bump this thread.

[Q] What are the rules about re-pinging other breeders if my hatchlings don't sell?
Please do not re-ping other members when reposting your hatchlings that haven't sold from a previous XYYBA post. You may only re-ping people if you've added more dragons for sale in your post. The moderators have noticed a large number of repetitive pings from page-to-page without changing the content of the post. We will kindly ask you to stop if you are a serial poster of either the IC Spreadsheet (Specific Ping List) or General Ping List.

For example, Possum has three XYY hatchlings for sale on Monday. She posts them in the XYYBA thread and notifies everyone on the General Ping List. No one answers and nothing sells, so she re-pings everyone on Tuesday. This is serial pinging and is not allowed. If she'd added two more new hatchlings to the post on Tuesday, a re-ping is allowed.

[Q] Is the XYYBA on Tumblr?
[A] Yes and no. We don't have an official XYYBA page, but we float around on the following tag:
