Industry Registration for EVOLVE: GCM Colloquium 2018
GCM’s Annual Colloquium and Business Plan Expo will take place on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 from 4 to 8PM. This year both Colloquium and the Business Plan Expo are combined into one large super networking event with the theme Evolve: Startups, Mergers & Acquisitions in the Graphic Arts Industry. Both events will be hosted under the same roof at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly Maple Leaf Gardens).

What is GCM? The School of Graphic Communications Management at Ryerson is pleased to offer the only degree-granting program in Canada for managers in the graphic arts. Students graduate from the four year program with a Bachelor of Technology and the skills and experience necessary to work within the exciting and rapidly evolving printing industries.

What is GCM’s Colloquium? Colloquium is an evening event organized by student volunteers featuring keynote address, panel discussion and an information reception. Colloquium is an excellent opportunity for students and industry members alike to broaden their knowledge, share experiences, and build lasting network connections.

This year’s keynote address features:
Deanne Sinclair of Cambridge Label Inc., Deanne’s presentation will focus on Cambridge Label’s digital print start-up and the lessons she has learned from this endeavour

Jay Mandarino of CJ Graphics Inc. Jay’s presentation will focus on how he built up CJ Graphics Inc., where they are in the marketplace today, why companies need to pursue mergers and acquisitions and the state of the nation of the graphic arts industry.

Peter Ha and Rhodi Iliadou of Equal Parts Studio. Peter Ha and Rhodi Iliadou are passionate about engaging, approachable and fun visual design. After working together at a few 9-5 jobs they decided to start their own design studio and focus on the type of work they really wanted to create! They’ve learned many valuable lessons during their first year—which, surprisingly, they survived! #virgepreneur

What is GCM’s Business Plan Expo? Experience the new innovative business ideas of over 140 talented graduating students. Our 4th year GCM students have been planning new businesses in the graphic arts industry and are excited to share them with you at the expo. Talk to GCM students, enjoy interactive demos and learn why Ryerson continues to be on the cutting edge of innovation.
