A Penny for Your Intrusive Thoughts
People with mental illness, particularly OCD, have to deal with intrusive thoughts that can feel shameful, making it difficult to seek out help for fear of having to share those thoughts with another person. The purpose of A Penny for Your Intrusive Thoughts (www.apennyforyourintrusivethoughts.org) is to anonymously share the thoughts people feel most ashamed or embarrassed and the thoughts they feel nobody else could possibly have.

While suicidal thoughts are common and valid, we are not able to post them because the general guidelines for reporting on suicide deem such posts detrimental. If you are in crisis, call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room. You can also reach out to the national suicide hotline at 1-800-273-8255. Suicide OCD obsessions, however, are separate from suicidal thoughts and we will happily post them. If you have any questions about the difference between suicidal thoughts and suicide obsessions, feel free to visit our website or email us at apennyforyourintrusivethoughts@gmail.com for more information.
