York County can prevent child sexual abuse.

Stewards of Children is a prevention training that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The program is designed for organizations that serve youth and for individuals concerned about the safety of children. It is the only nationally distributed, evidence-informed program proven to increase knowledge, improve attitudes, and change child protective behaviors.  We invite you to become a Steward of Children today!

We are offering a limited number of Stewards of Children workshops delivered in a webinar format. Our goal is to make our community a safe place for kids to grow up by teaching adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

The Safe and Healthy Community Initiative is proud to offer Stewards of Children at no cost to parents,  educators, and community members

Continuing education credits are available for teachers, nurses, dentists and dental hygienists, and early childhood and school-age professionals in Pennsylvania.

1 in 10 children will experience sexual abuse before their 18th birthday.   It can have devastating and long-term consequences for victims as well as communities.

York County was awarded a competitive grant from  the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to partner with Penn State University, and other local organizations for the Safe and Healthy Communities Initiative, designed to reduce the rates of child sexual abuse through evidence-based programs.

The goal: train 5% of adults in York County by 2022.

We're on our way - help us reach our goal by attending a workshop and encouraging your friends and family to join you in being a Steward of Children!
